november already?

My, my...November already. Not a lot has happened since my last post, but we are moving forward with things as best as we can. The surveyor is scheduled to do the soil erosion/grading plan necessary to obtain our permits and the county health department and septic design firm are ready to do their initial testing in two weeks to determine what needs to be done to bring the system up to 5 bedroom flow capacity. Oh, and just so you know how much fun that latter is for us...it’s going to cost $4500 to find out what it’s going to cost, if you know what I mean. Sheesh!
We are hoping to soon put the work under contract as our financing has been narrowed down to two sources (our current lender and our bank...both with similar terms, etc.) Maybe by this time next year the work will be complete. Maybe...
I believe that I’ve finally worked out how the master bath will be arranged, particularly the shower area. We had the architect work the space such that we can have a very large, door-less shower area with a bench and a “water fall” arrangement. All along, I’ve been playing with renderings in SketchUp! (a 3D drawing program that I adopted a couple years ago for my woodworking designs) for both the entire addition as well as detailed portions of it. It's nice being able to “build” in a virtual environment and be able to visualize what the end result might be. So here are a few angles of what our master bath may just end up looking like once the builder is done his magic!
